“It just sounded
SO HARD! ‘Academically Talented’.” Christine
Mac remembers her bewildered reaction when she received her
invitation to the program. “I was surprised that I was
chosen for AcTal because I wasn’t like the best student
in the class. And I didn’t want to go because it sounded
hard and intimidating and really dorky.” Mac questioned

made her final decision. It was not a decision that she could
look back and regret.
