Others are flat plains that are covered with green growth. Even the world's largest desert ,The Sahara, has small patches of trees and grass in some places. Some deserts are hot all year round, while others are hot in the summer, and cold in the winter. It does rain in the desert but usually only a bit. Parts of the desert go many years without any rain. When it is really hot the water dries up fast. It sometimes is so hot that the rain dries up before it hits the ground.
The desert landforms have sand dunes. Sand dunes are piled up sand. The desert has rocks and some types of plants. Some deserts are flat and some have rolling sand hills. Desert temperatures vary around 139f. It all depends on the location and its size.

Human Impact on the Desert Ecosystem

Human Impact has a big influence on the desert life. Humans can come in and kill off the animals in the desert. Humans can pollute the desert animal's only water source, killing off all of the animals that leave that area. Too many crops spoil the soil in the desert. People plant crops for food and after a few years the soil spoils so the people leave and that soil turns to sand and becomes desert and the people keep doing that and the desert becomes bigger. People cut down the few trees in the desert and the desert becomes bare. The people Use the trees for fuel and burn.
In deserts, destruction of the indigenous vegetation has quickly led to progressing desertification. The cause of destruction of the indispensable sand-fixing vegetation belt is overused.
