It does not matter where one lives in the world - you cannot escape the environment. The development of Canada has historically been based on the struggle to create a high standard of living out of a difficult geography. Technology has aided the process so much that the situation has changed. Today the economy is a stronger force of influence than the environment, and the environment needs to be protected. In this unit we will discussion of the relationships that exist among the geography of Canada, the people of Canada, and the standard of living we enjoy.
