Some people say that change is occurring faster today than at any other time in history. New technology is ever bringing on changes in work, entertainment, and even what is morally acceptable. The present rapid change may be only a perception. The Aboriginal People living along the St. Lawrence in the early seventeenth century lived through profound change that affected everything they knew. Immigrants who came to Canada had to accept many changes in order to adapt to a new land and culture. Change is not new.
This unit will focus on:
A major skill in this course is dialectic evaluation. As a part of the change unit we will look at what is dialectical evaluation and how it can be applied to examining change in past and present events.
