Hina Matsuri - Doll Festival

In Japan girls look forward to March 3, the third day of the third month. Once a year every daughter dresses in her best kimono and sets up a display of her family dolls. The dolls represent members of the royal family. The display also includes miniature furniture and dishes. We celebrated the doll festival by making paper dolls. First we made a head out of construction paper. Then we picked out some wall paper and some tissue paper. We folded it into a body shape.
