This unit was designed for use with a grade 8/9 class but could also be used anywhere from grades 6-9. The approach used was a combination of literature circle strategies along with some independent and group activities, and an enrichment component to accommodate a variety of student ability levels and learning styles within a double graded classroom. These activities could be used with any novel. Each lesson is designed around literature circle activities, small group or individual activities and an enrichment component if needed.
