The Learner

The key variable that informs and determines the type and extent of adaptations is the learner. Any adaptation must begin with the developmental level, abilities, aptitudes, motivation, interests, cultural backgrounds, and achievement level of each learner.

You don't have to grow a seed. What the seed needs to grow is already built. As gardeners, we need to make sure the seeds get the right soil, water and sunlight, which are the conditions that foster a child's natural love of learning and the unique conditions that help him or her learn in the way that is most natural. If you take a tomato seed and plant it in the desert, it won't grow, even though a thousand cactus seeds might."
