-40° C because of the freezing cold Arctic air masses.
Average high is -8 degrees C and the low is -19 deg. C. In the winter the strong winds result in very cold temperatures with an added windchill. Winter blizzards ( storms with winds and blowing snow) can last for many hours. It is not uncommon for it to snow in late spring and in late summer. | ![]() |
