Beechy
is located in the heart of the Saskatchewan prairies about 130 km NE of Swift
Current, Sk. The school is located on the outskirts of Beechy on Hwy 342.
The facility has recently been renovated, with the demolition of the old wing
and the addition of 3 new satellite classrooms. It is small, yet undeniably
cozy. The staff consists of nine teachers and five support staff. There
are approximately 150 students in our school. Our school is very enthusiastic
with a wide range of classes, sports, and intramural programs.
The Village of Beechy is a
peaceful, agricultural based community. There are two community halls,
a larger one presently under construction, a skating rink, curling rink, two
restaurants, one bank, one Credit Union, two grocery stores, a post office,
and a health centre with a resident doctor. The village has United, Catholic,
Anglican, and Mennonite Churches. The town has paved streets that make
one feel like they are driving in the city. The people are friendly and
just like Cheers; everybody knows your name! Beechy is a great
place to call home.
