Course Design
Research has shown that students learn the most
about technology when they work collaboratively and help each other to solve
problems. This course actively promotes a collaborative environment where
students are encouraged and expected to help each other.
You will be working in a small group (as a team)
during much of this course. Not all students in the class will be working on the
same thing at the same time. Sometimes you will be working on an individual
basis, such as investigating a particular career area related to the multimedia
industry.
If you are ready to download your
movie from the video camera but all the iMacs/video capture computers are already in use you should move
on to the career investigation lessons and/or the ethics and legalities lessons.
Hopefully you will be able to complete all coursework during class time hours.
However, you may have to make arrangements for 'out of class' time in order to
access the iMacs/video capture computers. You are developing and enhancing your skill levels with computers, cameras, and editing equipment.
You are also increasing your team work
and collaborative skills which are valued attributes to have in any workplace.
The assignment page outlines what you will be doing during this course.
All items
and aspects listed here will be studied but not necessarily in the order
indicated. Your own initiative is important. You are free to work ahead if you
desire to do so. There will be no
time when you will be idle. With such a short time to complete all that this
course entails you will need to keep checking the calendar
etc.
to ensure that you are on track.
