What is English Language Arts B10: Issues in Contemporary Society about?

English Language Arts 10B is an issues based language arts course that helps students use language skills and strategies to expore the human concerns and issues facing contemporary society.

The resources on this site are based on suggested units found in English Language Arts:
A Curriculum Guide for the Secondary Level April 1999
. The two chosen units are titled: Equality-Pain and Pride, Decisions-Action or Apathy.

Although this course is designed to help students explore language through issues, there may be many opportunities to integrate activities and resources with courses such as Social Studies 10, Native Studies 10, Drama 10, and CPT 10.

Each unit should take approximately ten weeks to complete.
