Sample Career and Life Portfolio Pages

Take time to browse through some of the portfolio pages students have made. Some of the pages were developed by students under the direction of a classroom teacher while other artifacts were developed by students on their own as a way of displaying the skills and talents they have accumulated. Other sample portfolio pages are are provided to help show teachers and students the many creative ways we can display our skills, talents, and accomplishments. Be sure to also check out the sample products that are provided for many of the lessons found within this website.

Samples of a Student's Skills Development:

The following career and life portfolio development pages show how one student created an attractive design format and colour scheme to present evidence of his skills and abilities. The content of the pages was adapted from the Workability Handbook which is produced by Alberta Human Resources and Employment.

Browse through this collection of thumbnails to see the many different types of artifacts middle years and high school students have developed to portray the skills they have acquired in their lives. Sources for portfolio atrifacts often come from school based activities, but may also be gathered from all aspects of a person's life, as thse thumbnails will show. In many of the samples, the students used technology (digital cameras, scanners, publication software) to help capture symbols (medals, certificates, photos, etc) of their skill development.
