Writers' Workshop

"Imagination is more powerful than knowledge" Albert Einstein
Writers' Workshop is a wonderful practice to add to your classroom. It improves students' literacy skills and is adaptable to any project your students are involved in.
Writers' Workshop is a program that is used to teach the writing process.
Time is blocked out daily for the writing process that allows students the opportunity to brainstorm, write drafts, edit and proofread, then publish pieces that they would like to share with others.
Some students prefer to write alone while others benefit from having a partner author from time to time.
Just as professional writers do not publish every piece they start, students may choose to finish some pieces and stop short on others.
How do I do it? What does it look like? How do I assess? How can I learn more? What is it?
