Demonstrations
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." William A. Ward

Demonstrations in the Classroom

Demonstrations are fun, interactive visual presentations modeled by either a teacher or a student.

They are used help to introduce or present new concepts or topics, show students how to perform tasks, how to use equipment, or how to approach an assignment or project.

They not only set the standards for assignment or project expectations, but they also help breakdown the skill into easy steps or stages.

To be an effective demonstrator, the teacher must be open to step into an enthusiastic, inspiring role. Playing the part of the mad scientist, or introducing Greek Mythology as the Greek God Zeus are just two examples of interactive demonstrations.

The way that you choose to demonstrate will ultimately affect the outcome of the learning!

How do I do it? What does it look like? How do I assess? How can I learn more? What is it?
