Instructional Strategies, Methods, and Skills
Strategies Matched to
Subject/Skill Areas
The instructional strategies and
adaptations should be determined based on individual students' learning needs,
your instructional style and the child's learning strengths. This section
provides proven adaptations of instructional strategies that address the diverse
and unique learning needs of students. It is important to remember that most
of these strategies can aid the performance of other students in the classroom.
Reading, Writing, and Listening strategies may be applied in all areas. Please cross reference with Adaptations Matched to Perceptual Difficulties also to match perceptual difficulties.
The strategies chosen to be included appear in many textbooks. For further information about them, see the Bibliography. Many strategies have been presented at various workshops and conferences and have come from handouts provided at those conferences. If they were found in a text which was used in developing this site, the text is acknowledged.
