The theme for this course is "Seeking New Spaces; Telling our Stories". It is a course for those who wish to adventure into new spaces, to explore, discover and create. It is a course for all of us who have stories to tell: in prose or poetry. Creative Writing 20 provides the opportunity for you, the student - the writer - to develop your creative writing skills and abilities beyond what is offered in the required English Language Arts courses.
    This course will encourage you to see creative writing as a unique way of thinking, and will help you to explore and develop your own ideas and potential as a writer. You will examine and experiment with different ways of conveying meaning through writing, and see how methods and styles vary within cultures and time periods. Through guided experiences, you will see the connections between your writing, the writing of others and the broader world around you. In the process of telling your stories, you will discover new worlds without, and new worlds within. Again, welcome to Creative Writing 20!
